The Basilica of Saint Andrew Bereavement Ministry serves families who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The members of the ministry are trained to successfully implement our mission to give comfort and support to the grieving families of the Basilica of Saint Andrew community by giving them our time, hearing their thoughts and sharing their tears.
Every year on All Souls' Day (November 2), the Bereavement Ministry Team sponsors a Remembrance following the Mass for All Souls for those who have died from All Souls Day to All Souls Day. Participants can join in prayer and song and light a candle for their loved ones.
Seasons of Hope
Seasons of Hope is a unique grief support program for Catholics, developed by author Donna MacLeod and published by Ave Maria Press, that focuses on the spiritual side of grieving the death of a loved one. It invites those who mourn to accompany one another and to meet Christ through scripture, prayer, reflection, and simple activities that offer comfort and help to foster healing and spiritual growth.
The program is offered at the Basilica of Saint Andrew three times a year. Each session is 6 weeks long. The sessions are facilitated by trained members of the Basilica's Bereavement Ministry.
Please contact the parish office for information on our next session!
